The ”mother ” of the Suomenlinna Toy Museum has another passion besides dolls: old Russian samovars. Piippa Tandefelt set up a permanent samovar exhibition in the town of Hamina in 2003. The exhibition shows samovars, some of which date back to the 18th century, historic teapots, and old Orthodox utensils. During Easter and Christmas time the exhibition presents also Piippa Tandefelt’s collections of Easter Eggs and Christmas Gnomes.

The samovar exhibition is open
from Wednesdays to Saturdays from 11 to 15
and on Sundays from 11 to 17.
